Software Engineer

The role forms part of the off-shore development team (within Web/), responsible for end to end design, development and delivery of key IT initiatives. Operating within a fast-moving environment this challenging ‘hands on’ role requires a developer with an aptitude for innovation and creativity. The role spans both support and development with a predominantly UK based user group.

Key Accountabilities

• Application Development and support
• Ability to work in high paced environment using Agile Methodology
• Support throughout test and implementation
• Liaison with IT Senior Management and other projects (both IT and Business)
• Handover of completed projects to relevant operational teams

Knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience:

• 2-4 years development experience (ASP.NET web forms and MVC, Windows Services, Windows Communication Foundation, Web services, Microsoft Message Queue (MSMQ), WCF + MSMQ)
• 2+ years developing high-performance enterprise level web applications. Repository SVN, TFS and ORM Entity Framework, LINQ (Strong), NHibernate (optional)
• Experience in mark-up languages/Scripts:- XML, JSON (Strong), JavaScript, AngularJS, JQuery, XHTML, AJAX and CSS
• Experience in source control systems and branching (TFS, GitHub)
• Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment methodologies and tools.
• 2+ years SQL SERVER 2008 + , Oracle 10g + , MySQL (Optional), Strong in query building, procedures, functions etc. development experience (at least one)
• 2+ years MS SQL Server Reporting Services
• 1+ year support experience with understanding of development lifecycle & release management
• Working knowledge and exposure to open source and third party frameworks
• Very strong analysis skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with peers/ business users
• Aptitude for innovation and thinking ‘outside the box’
• Advantageous Requirements
• Tools hands on Microsoft unit test framework/NUnit, Telerik controls, NuGet packages
• Experience in .Net Framework 3.5 to 4.5.2
